Description/Job Summary

POSITION BASIC PURPOSE

Perform High Power Test Lab functions

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

Maintain and operate the lab in a safe condition
Conduct testing at an effective and efficient level
Contribute to the support of the Engineering teams to help meet their goals.
Contribute to the customers’ satisfaction by meeting their deadlines
Keep the lab and equipment clean.
Constantly maintain a high level of safety awareness and always understand the surrounding conditions.
Maintain a high level of communication with other test lab personnel
Assist with high fault current, surge testing, time current and cycling testing in accordance with test standard specifications.
Maintain all of the Labs’ Power Generation and associated Test Equipment.
Assure the Lab procedures comply with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 functions to maintain certification.
Develop a working knowledge of UL safety standards.
Learn to Evaluate Test Data and Test Performances to support Design Engineers’ theories.
Develop an understanding of load bank configurations and how to set-up test circuits
Assist on Team Projects as required.
 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES)

Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent level of basic electrical theory knowledge.

Working experience with PC operating platforms (Windows, Excel, and Word).

Physical requirements, climbing ladders, lifting up to 25 pounds, kneeling, reaching overhead, work with power tools.

Ability to understand and troubleshoot Control Systems to the Component Level.

Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems and IEEE Interface Systems.

Must be capable of communicating with test lab personnel, internal engineers, and customers.

Must know how to operate hand tools and power tools safely

Must be willing to work overtime when required
