AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN


General Description
 
The automation technician supports all aspects of the front end automation equipment; including programming, general house cleaning, trouble shooting, and repair; he or she also maintains detailed reports of system problems and applied solutions.
 

Job Environment

Fast-paced and dynamic environment that demands a passion for the industry and attention to detail to produce results.  Coordinates with team leaders and supervisor aligning maximum cooperation with other areas of organization.
 
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides manufacturing support for automation equipment and other machines as needed
• Maintains and improves reliability of equipment
• Trouble shoots and adjust manufacturing PLC (Schneider Programming knowledge is a plus)
 
Skills and Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years in an engineering or manufacturing environment including hands-on relevant experience evaluating automated equipment and processes and solving automated equipment issues.
  • Maintenance program (TPM preferred)
  • Robotic programming skills to refine movement using various controllers.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Robotic equipment programming knowledge.
  • PC literate in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Experience using industrial controllers.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical prints.
  • Good methodical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment and related issues.
  • Must be organized with the discipline to solve problems with permanent solutions
  • Experience with Automation Projects and Industry 4.0 is a plus
